This piece is a take on shadows, three to be exact. See if you can figure them out...
The figures themselves are shadows of a dancer with a single light source. After I shaped the figures I set them up in a straight line and turned the lights out and put another single light sorce on them. This can be seen as the dark underside of the figures which is the actual shadow cast on them. Next I sand blasted them and then burnt them with a torch to give them a blackened shadow. Thus the name Fire Shadow Dancer. Lastly, as you can see in the first picture when put on display the figures cast the third shadow on the wall...
