Artist Statement
Manufactured Landscapes are metaphors of landscapes that have been altered by large-scale human activity, that are manufactured from man-made materials, and explores the absurdity of humankind's wastefulness. The installation before you illustrates a tiny fragment of what Timothy Morton calls a hyperobject. Hyperobjects are things that have become "massively distributed over time and space in relation to humans; they are so huge and so long-lasting, that they seem both vivid and slightly unreal fro exactly the same reasons." They could be a very long-lasting product of expressly human manufacture.
